Search Marketing (Search Engine Marketing) is a form of internet marketing that I consider to be a hybrid of Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click Marketing that promotes websites by increasing the visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) through on-page and off-page optimization as well as through paid advertising.
In 2012 $23.9 Billion was spent on Pay Per Click Marketing alone which represented nearly two-thirds of total digital ad spending that year.
Here’s my 2 cents, Search Marketing is not a set it and forget it type of Marketing. It takes time from the SEO side to get ranked high in the SERPs but it also takes optimization to dial in your PPC Campaigns and not lose dollars, however your advertising in a space where YOU’RE not Looking for Clients but Clients are Looking for YOU and that is the most qualified client you could ever want!
You’re not putting up a billboard on the side of a Highway where 1,000,000 people drive by and 10% of them are interested in your product or service, you’re putting your Company exactly where a consumer is looking to FIND your product or service and that’s the MAJOR difference.
